THE ROAD TO THE 2008-2009 DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP INCLUDES...

Competing in the Division I Bracket of one of the premier basketball tournaments in the nation, The McDonald's Invitational!
Competing against Texas 5A defending state champion, North Crowley in the McDonald's Invitational opener.
Home opener vs. two-time defending 24-4A champions, Lamar Consolidated.
Will travel to 2008 nationally-ranked Jack Yates to compete against the Lions.
Texas Association of Basketball Coaches and Tex Preps Magazine both pick the Spartans as preseason District 17-5A favorites.

Jimmy Abraham, the Spartans career record holder for steals and assists, seals another Spartan victory with a free throw as the Spartan Crazies get ready to celebrate!

WEEK 1
The Spartans will travel to Langham Creek High School in Cy-Fair on Tuesday for their opening regular season game. Look for a great battle as the Lobos (15-5A) and the Spartans (17-5A) are both picked to win their respective districts! At least the first three games the Spartans will play will be against teams tabbed to win their district: the Langham Creek Lobos, the La Porte Bulldogs and the the North Crowley Panthers! The Spartans will take on La Porte (22-5A) and North Crowley (3-5A) Thursday in the McDonald's Texas Invitational.

Spartan Crazy Reunion Game is on Friday, December 30th vs. the Woodlands at 7:00 pm!

SPARTANS PLAYING COLLEGE BALL
Congratulations to Brandon Provost who signed with Air Force, Jimmy Abraham who signed with Rend Lake College in Ina, Illinois and Jordan Cromeans who signed with Schreiner College as future college basketball players from the 2007-2008 Spartan Team! Congratulations to Taylor Ward who is playing Division I college football at Texas A&M University!

SLHS players, parents, and fans celebrate as the Spartans seal the first playoff victory in
program history. The Spartans defeated Friendswood 59-50 in the opening round of the
